De onderzoekende ICT-professional

Dit is de hand-out van een workshop gegeven op het NIOC Congres van 2023 in Emmen. Het onderwerp is de onderzoekende ICT-professional en hoe dat kan worden vormgegeven binnen de opleiding HBO-ICT.

Onderzoeksrapport Onafhankelijke Inwonersondersteuning in Ede

Dit rapport begint met een beknopte omschrijving van het beleidskader voor Onafhankelijke Inwonersondersteuning (OIO) in de gemeente Ede. De basis voor het onderzoekt wordt gevormd door het wettelijk kader, het beleid van Ede rond OIO en het koplopersproject. De CHE is gevraagd vooral doelstelling 3 van het koplopersproject te onderzoeken: de preventieve functie van inwonersondersteuning ten behoeve van efficiënt en juist verwijzen naar passende ondersteuning. Het onderzoek is grotendeels uitgevoerd in de periode van 2021 tot en met juli 2022. Dit is gedaan in overleg met de opdrachtgevers Stimenz en de gemeente Ede. Het rapport eindigt met een aantal conclusies, reflecties en aanbevelingen.

Mensgerichte ICT (Lectorale rede)

Deze lectorale rede is op 6 juli 2023 in verkorte versie door Erik-Jan Smits uitgesproken bij zijn installatie als lector voor het lectoraat ‘Zin in ICT’. In deze rede gaat hij in op de vraag hoe we 'mensgerichte ICT' tot een praktisch en pragmatisch raamwerk kunnen maken maken waarmee we daadwerkelijk de mens centraal kunnen stellen in het ontwerpen, ontwikkelen, implementeren, gebruiken en beheren van ICT.

Nederland, Europa en internationale betrekkingen vijfhonderd jaar geleden

In deze aflevering van het tijdschrift Radix staan Europa en internationale betrekkingen centraal. In de artikel wordt 500 jaar teruggaan in de tijd. Wat zien we als we kijken naar de politieke situatie anno 1523 en welke rol speelde Karel van Egmond hierin? De politieke situatie in ‘Europa’ kenmerkte zich door dreiging van buiten en innerlijke verdeeldheid. In dit alles wist Karel van Egmond vooral van die verdeeldheid handig gebruik te maken om de macht over zijn hertogdom Gelre in handen te houden.

Does it make sense to participate?

In a practical theological research project called ‘Does it make sense to participate?’ a new research model has been developed with the name ‘Compass of Meaning’. This model is designed to map, compare and qualify the experiences of participants in new faith communities, in order to find new ways for contextualizing the Gospel in a secular society. The research model is based on modern perspectives on sensemaking in social sciences and spiritual healthcare and a holistic interpretation of salvation and combines a qualitative and quantitative research method. In this paper the authors introduce the model, the first research results about participants in six pioneering communities in the Netherlands, and questions for theological reflection.

After all, they are still my parents. About exoneration and forgiveness.

The concept of exoneration is a crucial point of contextual therapy. To this day there is debate as to whether exoneration and forgiveness are synonymous, or whether there is a difference between the two concepts. In his presentation Dr. Jaap van der Meiden will discuss findings from recent collaborative international research on forgiveness of parents exploring similarities and differences between exoneration and forgiveness. This analysis will help clinicians guide those who are stuck in broken relationships along the path of exoneration and forgiveness into a process of recovery or even reconciliation between family members. This topic is especially timely in the era of increased family estrangement.

Exploring the concept of school belonging

School belonging is important for well-being and academic achievement of youth. School belonging is a broad concept for which researchers from different disciplinary backgrounds have developed a variety of synonyms and indicators. To explore the content of the concept of school belonging, an expert rating study was conducted with 73 expert researchers who rated different synonyms, indicators, and clusters of indicators of school belonging. Results showed that the experts considered connectedness the most suitable synonym of school belonging and inclusion, acceptance, connection, and respect the best indicators. With a multidimensional scaling analysis, two dimensions (the object of belonging and the intra- versus interpersonal nature of belonging) and five clusters of indicators were identified. The findings of this study provides some conceptual clarity that may help future research.

Werken met ecosystemen

Terwijl ik dit artikel schrijf, ligt de Freemantle Highway volgeladen met elektrische auto’s te branden boven de Waddenzee. Als het vrachtschip vergaat, dreigt er een ecologische ramp. En dat terwijl elektrische auto’s brandstofmotoren dienen te vervangen, waarvoor de mijnen weer open moeten om grondstoffen voor accu’s te delven. Zo kent de huidige economie allerlei soorten van keuzes en crises. De korte termijn wint het keer op keer van de wezenlijke oplossingen op lange termijn.
