Verspreid over Nederland zijn de afgelopen decennia allerlei nieuwe christelijke pioniersinitiatieven ontstaan. In dit onderzoek is onderzocht wat deze initiatieven betekenen voor hun deelnemers, waar deze betekenis volgens hen vooral mee samenhangt en wat hieruit geleerd kan worden voor het communiceren van het evangelie binnen de Nederlandse samenleving op een manier die gevoelig is voor de heden daagse context.

In a practical theological research project called ‘Does it make sense to participate?’ a new research model has been developed with the name ‘Compass of Meaning’. This model is designed to map, compare and qualify the experiences of participants in new faith communities, in order to find new ways for contextualizing the Gospel in a secular society. The research model is based on modern perspectives on sensemaking in social sciences and spiritual healthcare and a holistic interpretation of salvation and combines a qualitative and quantitative research method. In this paper the authors introduce the model, the first research results about participants in six pioneering communities in the Netherlands, and questions for theological reflection.

Terwijl ik dit artikel schrijf, ligt de Freemantle Highway volgeladen met elektrische auto’s te branden boven de Waddenzee. Als het vrachtschip vergaat, dreigt er een ecologische ramp. En dat terwijl elektrische auto’s brandstofmotoren dienen te vervangen, waarvoor de mijnen weer open moeten om grondstoffen voor accu’s te delven. Zo kent de huidige economie allerlei soorten van keuzes en crises. De korte termijn wint het keer op keer van de wezenlijke oplossingen op lange termijn.

Aim: To explore which factors, influencing dietary behaviour change support among patients by Dutch community nurses (CNs; nurses), are key focal points in training programmes. Background: Nurses have an important role in counselling patients towards healthier dietary behaviour to prevent or delay long-term complications from chronic lifestyle-related diseases. Most nurses do not incorporate dietary behaviour change support in their routines to the fullest potential. Design: A qualitative descriptive study. Methods: Data were collected in the Netherlands in 2018–2019 via semi-structured face-to-face interviews with 18 nurses. Interview guide themes were informed by the COM-B model, using validated descriptions in Dutch. Data were recorded, transcribed and analysed using inductive thematic analysis. Results: Factors that affected dietary behaviour change support were linked to (1) the nurse (role identity, dietary knowledge and competences such as methodical approach, behaviour change techniques and communication techniques), (2) nurse–patient encounter (building a relationship with a patient, supporting patient autonomy and tailoring the approach) and (3) cooperation and organizational context. Conclusion: It is of utmost importance to pay attention to nurses' role identity regarding dietary behaviour change support, as this underlies professional behaviour. This should be accompanied by improving competences on dietary behaviour change support. Focus on competences regarding the application of behaviour change technique is crucial. Furthermore, having a relationship of trust with a patient was important for discussing sensitive topics such as diet. Impact: The promotion of a healthy diet provides opportunities to contribute to patient autonomy and self-management. Well-fitted training offers for (senior) nurses will lead to improved professional practice of nurses, leading to healthier dietary behaviour of patients.

School belonging is important for well-being and academic achievement of youth. School belonging is a broad concept for which researchers from different disciplinary backgrounds have developed a variety of synonyms and indicators. To explore the content of the concept of school belonging, an expert rating study was conducted with 73 expert researchers who rated different synonyms, indicators, and clusters of indicators of school belonging. Results showed that the experts considered connectedness the most suitable synonym of school belonging and inclusion, acceptance, connection, and respect the best indicators. With a multidimensional scaling analysis, two dimensions (the object of belonging and the intra- versus interpersonal nature of belonging) and five clusters of indicators were identified. The findings of this study provides some conceptual clarity that may help future research.

In deze rede gaat hij in op de vraag hoe we 'mensgerichte ICT' tot een praktisch en pragmatisch raamwerk kunnen maken maken waarmee we daadwerkelijk de mens centraal kunnen stellen in het ontwerpen, ontwikkelen, implementeren, gebruiken en beheren van ICT.
Zin in ICT | 06-07-2023Monitoring en evaluatie van de Human Capital Agenda Regio Foodvalley
Na de officiële vaststelling van de Human Capital Agenda voor de periode van 2022-2025, is Regio Foodvalley begonnen met de uitvoering van deze agenda. Het is essentieel om gedurende de uitvoering van de agenda grip te houden op de voortgang en betrokken partijen hiervan op de hoogte te brengen. Het lectoraat Dienstbaar Organiseren heeft onderzoek gedaan naar een methode voor het monitoren en evalueren van de voortgang en effectiviteit van de Human Capital Agenda. Deze methode richt zich op de volgende aspecten: 1. Monitoring: het monitoren van de voortgang van de uitvoering van de Human Capital Agenda en het identificeren van eventuele knelpunten of afwijkingen. 2. Bijsturing: het waar nodig bijsturen van de activiteiten die uitgevoerd worden onder de Human Capital Agenda om ervoor te zorgen dat de doelstellingen worden behaald. 3. Evaluatie: het evalueren van de activiteiten en interventies om te bepalen welke wel en niet goed werken en welke kunnen worden geoptimaliseerd. 4. Communicatie: het op de hoogte brengen van betrokken stakeholders over de voortgang van de Human Capital Agenda en het delen van informatie en kennis om de samenwerking en afstemming te bevorderen.

In deze aflevering van het tijdschrift Radix staan Europa en internationale betrekkingen centraal. In de artikel wordt 500 jaar teruggaan in de tijd. Wat zien we als we kijken naar de politieke situatie anno 1523 en welke rol speelde Karel van Egmond hierin? De politieke situatie in ‘Europa’ kenmerkte zich door dreiging van buiten en innerlijke verdeeldheid. In dit alles wist Karel van Egmond vooral van die verdeeldheid handig gebruik te maken om de macht over zijn hertogdom Gelre in handen te houden.
