Theorizing government communication with regard to the Dutch nature policy
The implementation of a National Ecological Network poses a significant challenge to the Dutch government. The establishment of this ecological network has led to conflicts among various interest groups in the public sphere, each of which defends its own interests. In this struggle for recognition communication fulfils an important role. This article contends that the discourse about nature is driven by deep frames, is comprised of values and is rooted in world-views. The insight that worldviews play a role elucidates the various positions in the debate and shows normative dimensions in communication. This article argues that the network society, more than ever, requires the government to be explicit about its normative choices.

Jobs of communication professionals are closely linked to transformations in society and therefore the role of these professionals is changing rapidly. Communication students must be prepared for the new demands put on communication professionals in the field. In Ede, a new curriculum in communication was launched in order to enable students to become relevant partners in dialog with society. We can identify three areas in the new curriculum where fundamental transitions have been made, in order to meet the expectations of a profession in transition: 1. Decentralization. In order to create an agile educational environment, we choose flatter structures and more autonomy for development teams (including budgets). Creating educational ownership improved knowledge sharing and idea generation among lecturers. 2. An agile curriculum. We renewed the content of the curriculum and added subjects as online reputation management, web care, training skills, and advanced listening. What’s more: from now on we invest to improve the curriculum every year, in cooperation with stakeholders. Students participate in focus groups about the curriculum and partners in the field are invited as cocreators. 3. The role of lecturers. The ongoing development of the profession has huge implications for the role of the teaching staff. The lecturer used to be the expert. He shared his knowledge with the newcomers, the students. Nowadays lecturers only add value if they continuously gain experience from practice. Therefore, we encourage teachers and students to learn together with partners in the communication field. Dit is de lectorale rede van Bernhard Reitsma voor het lectoraat Diversiteit en Professionaliteit. Allereerst wordt hierin de thematiek verkend. Waar hebben het we het nu precies over als het gaat over diversiteit en professionaliteit? Vervolgens wordt er een kader geschetst waarbinnen er op de CHE kan worden nagedacht over diversiteit en professionaliteit. Is er een verhaal dat de CHE typeert en dat de grote diversiteit intern weet te verbinden en vervolgens ook extern een weg wijst? Daaruit wordt een aantal conclusies getrokken over hoe een (christelijke) professional zich kan verhouden tot diversiteit en hoe zich dat kan vertalen naar professionele praktijken. Tot slot zal worden geschetst wat ons de komende jaren binnen het bronnen instituut en het lectoraat Diversiteit en Professionaliteit te doen staat. Wat is de onderzoeksvraag en hoe gaan we daar mee aan de slag?

In dit praktijkonderzoek is gebleken dat bewegen door patiënten in het ziekenhuis een eenvoudige interventie is die hen een welkom rendement oplevert. Waar mogelijk wordt functieverlies voorkomen en wordt de weg naar herstel actief gestimuleerd. Voor de beroepspraktijk is het van belang dat niet langer heen en weer geschoven wordt met verwachtingen wie dit gaat oppakken, maar dat dit een gedeelde verantwoording is in het multidisciplinaire overleg. Verpleegkundigen zouden zich sterker kunnen opstellen om tijd te nemen om de zelfredzaamheid van de patiënt met de juiste interventies te ondersteunen. Hierin ligt een taak voor het onderwijs om verpleegkunde studenten te trainen om door reflectie op goede zorg de juiste keuzes te maken in een hectische, organisatorische context en zo bij te dragen aan kwaliteit van leven van deze zorgvrager.

Geloven in Context | 01-01-2018How Is Contextual Therapy Applied Today?
Contextual therapy focusses on restoring and enhancing relationships, based on its paradigm of relational ethics, presuming a human tendency for reciprocal care. It is precisely in a time of stressed relationships that this focus on strengthening humanity is of great importance. This article presents the first study on the application of this paradigm into concrete interventions of twelve current contextual therapists, answering the question: How do contextual therapists apply the contextual theory and therapy into concrete interventions? Using the Thematic Analysis, fourteen therapy sessions were analyzed, revealing a typical working-method and eight characteristic categories of interventions. The findings of this qualitative research reveal a consistent working-method and several recognizable contextual elements. These may contribute to further integrating the paradigm of relational ethics in family therapy and developing a contemporary contextual guideline for therapy. It also provides a conditional step for investigating the efficacy of contextual therapy, for evidence-based research, and for further development of the methodology of contextual therapy.

Eigenaarschap van de verpleegkundige kwaliteitsindicatoren is een belangrijke voorwaarde om de kwaliteit van de verpleegkundige zorg te handhaven en verbeteren. Studenten hbo-v onderzochten in praktijkonderzoek in hoeverre een omgeving van ‘Excellente Zorg’ van invloed is op dit eigenaarschap.
